Your MUSE is a precisely designed piece of jewellery, which is why it requires special attention.
Here we present some key information on how to take care of your watch on a daily basis and over the long term.
7 tips for taking care of your luxury watch
If you do not wear your watch daily, we recommend that you wind the mechanism, turning the crown at least 20 times a week, to ensure that the movement works properly.
Your MUSE is a delicate piece of jewellery, with semi-precious stone dials less than 0.4mm thick. Avoid shocks and vibrations. Remove your MUSE before practising sports that could subject it to excessive impact or vibration.
Do not expose your watch to strong magnetic fields such as a loudspeaker, refrigerator, or other electromagnetic device.
Screw it on carefully to prevent water from entering the mechanism.
Clean your watch with soapy water and a toothbrush and dry it with a soft cloth.
Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetics, etc., which may damage the bracelet, case or gaskets. Do not expose your watch to sudden changes in temperature, such as exposure to sunlight followed by immersion in cold water. Also avoid extreme temperatures above 60°C (140°F) or below -20°C (32°F).
Preserve the appearance of your watch's leather strap by avoiding contact with water, sunlight and cosmetics.
In addition to these measures, we also recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3 to 5 years by the MUSE service centre to ensure that it remains in good working order over the long term.
A watch is a high-precision instrument made up of hundreds of components. In order to preserve the longevity and quality of your MUSE watch, our service centre ensures the perfect maintenance of your watch and takes care of all necessary repairs. Although MUSE movements are assembled with the utmost care, their precision can be affected by gravity, magnetic fields, shocks and, above all, by ageing lubricants. Aging of the seals and accidental shocks can also affect the tightness. It is recommended that a regular service be carried out every 3 to 5 years and a complete service every 6 to 8 years.
A regular maintenance service including all movement check points costs about 180CHF. For a complete service with complete dismantling of the movement and replacement of worn parts, the price is about 350CHF.
In case of an exceptional return, following a shock for example, our after-sales service will provide you with an estimate before repair, with the aim of obtaining the best quality-price ratio.
